Ruby-in-zoisite is not a quiet stone. That vivid, almost unsettling collision of deep green and warm red — the way the two colors push against each other without ever quite resolving — gives it an energy that demands attention. Set it beneath a piece of rutilated quartz, and something else happens entirely.

The doublet pairs ruby-in-zoisite with a piece of rutilated quartz cut into a tall, large-faceted dome — the kind of cut that lets light travel slowly through the stone before it finds its way back out. Inside, fine gold needles of rutile float suspended, catching the light in a way that feels almost alive. Stacked over the zoisite below, the two stones read as one layered thing, each shifting as you move, the depth between them never quite fixed.

The setting is made in oxidized sterling silver — branches, woven into something close to a cage, holding the stone from beneath with a quiet, rustic grip. Because the doublet is substantial, the band widens on both sides where branches wrap and interlock, giving the ring the stability it needs without losing any of its organic, found-in-the-forest feeling.
