The new star shape was drawn in one continuous stroke—but twice. Two strokes, I guess?
My teacher in my freshman drawing class at art school once told us, “Erasing a line you’ve already drawn is pointless. You’ll just end up drawing the same line again.” That advice really stuck with me.
This time, when I drew the star twice, the two were nearly identical. But there were slight differences, and those differences created the parts of the star that look thicker.
For this star, I followed the order of the strokes, and it gave the shape a subtle three-dimensional depth.
